Vehicle Electrical Specialists Since 1990
Diagnostics, alternators, solar panels, and full vehicle service in Akureyri.
What We Do
From diagnostics and alternators to installations and maintenance — we handle it all.
Alternators & Starter Motors
This is our core speciality. We've been repairing and replacing alternators and starter motors for over three decades. Our parts stock is among the largest in North Iceland — and we can always special-order if we don't have what you need on the shelf.
Car Electrics
We diagnose and repair electrical faults across all vehicle types. Whether it's lights, trailer wiring, ignition issues, or something more complex — we'll find it and fix it.
Computer Diagnostics
Full OBD scan and fault code analysis. We tell you exactly what's wrong and give you the printed report — whether you fix it with us or take it elsewhere.
Vehicle Maintenance & Repairs
Hands-on mechanical work across all vehicle makes. We cover more than we can list here — if you have something specific in mind, just get in touch.
Solar Panels
Victron Energy solar solutions for motorhomes, boats, and summer cabins. Three quality tiers to fit your needs and budget.
Installations
We take on a very wide range of vehicle installations and custom work. Not sure whether we handle what you need? Easiest thing is to just give us a call or drop us a message.
Trusted Since 1990
Ásco ehf. has been Akureyri's go-to vehicle electrical specialist for over 35 years. Founded as a machine shop in 1990, we've grown into a full-service automotive electrical and mechanical workshop. Under Hörður Ingólfsson's ownership since 2009, we expanded our parts inventory and service range to serve individuals, businesses, and commercial fleets alike.

"Best customer care ever. Our rented car had an issue at the motor, they checked it immediately, were super kind and also called the rental company and organized the invoicing through them. Also they referred a place to fix a tyre too which resulted in a quick and easy fix right away. All of this in English. 100% recommend. Thank you very much!!!"
